Clear Values.
Visible leadership.
Silence isn’t service.
Meet Mary
Mary Lucas is running for NC House District 50 because she believes leadership starts with showing up, and speaking up.
A sixth-generation Hillsborough resident, Mary is a healthcare leader, advocate, and hands-on public servant who has seen firsthand how decisions made in Raleigh ripple through families, caregivers, and aging adults.
Across North Carolina, too many of our shared values are under threat. From access to healthcare and reproductive freedom, to attacks on immigrants and policies that leave communities less safe and less supported, Mary believes public service requires clarity and courage. Protecting our neighbors and values means standing up for them, publicly and consistently.
Mary is running because silence isn’t service. She is committed to helping build a stronger, more effective Democratic Party across the state by showing up everywhere, listening first, and being clear about what we stand for. Strong local leadership builds statewide strength - and North Carolina needs both.
House District 50 is ready for leadership that is bold, compassionate, and grounded in real community work - and Mary Lucas is ready to serve.
